Randy has been our pastor since August, 2001.
He was born in High Point, North Carolina in May of 1962 and attended public schools in the Randolph County area.
He is a 1984 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC, with a Bachelor of Science degree.
His post graduate work includes a Master of Divinity in 1988 from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC,
where he was honored as a Raymond Bryan Brown Scholar and earned a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University in Madison, NJ.
He began his ministry in 1985 as a Youth Minister with Oakhurst Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC.
After graduation in 1989, Oakhurst called him as Associate Pastor where he remained until 1992
when he answered a call as Pastor, Scotts Creek Baptist Church in Sylva, NC.
In 1995, he answered a call from First Baptist Church, Morehead City, NC where he remained until July, 2001,
when he answered a call from GFBC.
