Raised in Zebulon, North Carolina, April returned to her roots when she joined the staff of Greenwood Forest in May, 2004.
April graduated form East Carolina University with a degree in Child Life in 1996 and
earned a Master of Divinity degree from McAfee School of Theology (Mercer University) in Atlanta in 2003.
April and her husband, David live in Raleigh and enjoy playing with their dog Cassidy and
cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Prior to coming to Greenwood Forest, April spent time as a house-parent for NC Baptist Children’s Homes, an assistant teacher at an inclusionary pre-school,
a summer camp and after school program director for a church in Atlanta, GA, and a minister to youth and children.
At Greenwood Forest, April leads programs for children and youth such as Vacation Bible School, Alpha and Omega, camps and retreats and many other exciting programs.
April especially enjoys taking youth on mission trips to places such as Puerto Rico, Lockport, New York and Montgomery, WV.
