The missions breakfast for Saturday has been canceled. It is tentatively rescheduled for February 20.

Congregational Caregiving Listening Sessions Rescheduled to Feb 21

The listening sessions have been rescheduled to Sunday, February 21 at 2pm and 4pm. Please check your calendars and sign up. The signup sheets are outside the office. Please notify the office if you will need childcare.

Second Blessings Consignment Sale

Second Blessings is a children’s consignment sale organized by the church and the children’s center. Come get great deals on gently used spring and summer clothing, toys, furniture, baby gear, sports equipment and maternity clothes. The sale is February 26 & 27 in the Fellowship Hall at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. Volunteer or consign and you can shop early.

  • Listening Group Signup

    Listening groups will be held on Sunday, January 31. You may sign up at 2:00 or 4:00 or 7:00. Sign up sheets are located outside of the church office on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Please pick one of the available time slots and write your name on a blank line. You may choose your group. Please note that each group is limited to a maximum of 10 persons. Please note your group's time and be present in the Sanctuary a few minutes before the scheduled starting time. If you need childcare, please make a reservation by calling the church office (467-0481). No childcare for the 7pm session.


  • Missions Breakfast

    The Missions Committee invites you to the Missions Breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. Our guest for February 6 will be Reginald DeMatteis, a native of Haiti. Mr. DeMatteis and his family have a building supply business in Port au Prince and his son is currently helping doctors in Haiti by being a translator for the injured. Mr. DeMatteis will present observations concerning the earthquake and his thoughts on the current and future well-being of Haiti. Please sign up for the breakfast by contacting the church office, or by registering on the Missions Breakfast Form by noon Wednesday, February 3.


  • Interim Pastor Search Committee - There will be short 2 question survey during Sunday School on January 23 regarding the role of the interim pastor. You may send email to the search committee using interimsearch@gfbccary.org

  • Christian Faith Study Join Rev. Amanda Atkin on Wednesday at 6:15 in Room 228 for topes in Christian Faith. A short video will be followed by discussion.

Mission Spotlight

  • Haiti Disaster Relief

    GFBC will setup a special fund for designated Haiti Disaster Relief. You may contribute to the fund by writing Haiti relief on your check. For information about CBF's response to the earthquake on January 12th check out this CBF Fellowship blog. CBF has also established a Haiti Relief Fund.   • Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network

    WIHN will be at our church January 31 through February 7. WIHN serves homeless families in Wake County by providing them with a place to stay, meals and help getting their lives on track and into a permanent housing. You can help by helping prepare supper, spending the night as a overnight host or driving the van to and from the WIHN daycenter.
