Welcome

GFBC is a worshiping community of faith seeking leadership from the Spirit of Christ on an inward and outward journey of faith fulfilling the Great Commission through education, fellowship, missions, and outreach. We invite you to join us in a comprehensive set of programs geared to enrich our worship and community of faith.

A Guide for our Guests

Upcoming Events

  • Check Out Our Pastor's Blog

Dr. Sherron has started a blog and you are encouraged to read it. Randy would appreciate any feedback on the blog. To read the blog use the "Pastor's Blog" tab at the top of the page or go to: gfbccary.blogspot.com.

  • Sign Up For VBS

Be sure to mark your calendar for July 22-26 and join us for Crocodile Dock VBS…Where Fearless Kid’s Shine God’s Light.

Register your child(ren) for VBS at http://www.groupvbs.com/webtoybox/myvbs/gfbc2009.

  • VBS is not possible without the help of parents and volunteers. We need people to lead story time, crafts, music and games. We also need people to help prepare snacks, guide the children from room to room, work in the worker’s nursery, take pictures, and help lead worship through drama. If you want to help our kids have a fabulous week at Bible school and grow in their faith, we will help you find a job at VBS.

If you are available to help during the week of July 22-26, please call the church office to sign up or use http://www.groupvbs.com/webtoybox/myvbs/gfbc2009.

  • Sing in the Summer Choir

During the summer months at Greenwood Forest our 11:00 a.m. worship service is led by the Summer Choir. Participation is open to everyone from rising 6th graders to Senior Adults. The literature will come from familiar anthems. If you have been thinking about joining one of the choirs, this is a great chance to give us a “test drive.”

  • The Summer Choir will rehearse on the following Sundays, following the 11:00 worship service:

    June 28

    July 12

    August 9

We hope to see you in rehearsal!

Mission Spotlight

  • Calling All Gardeners -

You may have read in the newspaper recently how community gardens are being used to minister to those in need in our community.  Greenwood Forest Baptist Church has been offered the use of property on which to host a community garden.

If you have an interest in helping either directly by working in the garden or by sharing your gardening knowledge please contact Mark Rice (218-2111 or mark_rice@ncsu.edu).

We don’t have specific plans at this point, but would like to see if there is enough interest to pursue this as a mission ministry of GFBC.

  • Cuba Update - We shipped a package to our brothers and sisters in Las Margaritas last week.

    Items include:

    • Spanish New Testament Bible

    • Ink cartridges for their printer
    • Sewing “notions” (needles, thread, etc.)
